It is approximately Beltane - one of those cross quarter days and my favorite. These days are embedded in many cultures and tend to wander around a bit from the exact moment - it is generally celebrated on May 1, but in recent years Beltane fire festivals in Scotland and Ireland are celebrated on April 30 .. the big one is on Carlton Hill in Edinburgh (strange photos)
