This is good news. Evidence (16 peer reviewed papers so far vs 2 that had to be retracted) show testosterone at puberty causes signifiant changes in the body that are not reversed by testosterone suppression therapy. Gender should be inclusive almost everywhere, but sport - particularly at the college and elite levels - should protect biological females for the same reason there are age and weight categories in some sports. Biological sex is important here, but gender makes sense in most other areas. The right uses this as a wedge issue. Elite female athletes have been threatened and are generally afraid to speak out on the issue. The IOC is dead-set against protecting biological females.
The proposed fix in some sports is to have female and open events. Transwomen would compete as open athletes and prizes/ranking could allow for a special trans category if deemed necessary.
