A cargo-carrying bike can displace short car trips in many areas. Regular ebikes are a revelation to many - you still get exercise, but cover more distance with less effort. The jump to something that carries "enough" cargo is larger. Some cargo bikes have large capacities, but their size and handling make them impractical for commuting and undesirable for recreation. A few cargo-capable ebikes cover most of the bases. Tern is an expert in the space with very high quality bikes, but their standard models are in the $5k to $7k range.
