Walking desks are finding use, but some users find a few normal activities like typing more difficult. A biomechanics researcher at the University of Utah has come up with a pedaling desk that claims to engage the user in light activity that does not interfere with these activities. It offers a surprisisng amount of exercise with 300 to 800 extra calories a day being burned. There is a crowd funding project to get it off the ground commercially.
