Microsoft has a variety of really interesting things to do with maps as part of Bing ... The interface is a bit confusing, but look for map apps on the lower left
Hunt for destination maps and have some fun. Some of the sketches are really nice. Some obvious bugs, slow and the interface needs cleaning up, but neat - it is getting at what I like in a map.
