a tip about Steve's ice cream trick: eat it while still warm because the stroopwafels become so hard when cold that you could endanger a tooth if you push on instead of using common sense. Luckily, I suspect pretty much everyone who reads the blog has common sense.

bjarne mentioned his modification:

take a newly baked waffle (still warm), curl it up into a code, add two scoops or best vanilla ice cream, add a dollop of strawberry jam, add whipped cream. Yum! It's very easy to find in Copenhagen and to add insult to injury, it's often called "an American".
