Disposable smocks.
Airline passengers might be hiding something. Have them change into a disposable smock in a carefully surveilled area at the airport. About $1 each and probably less in quantity. The airlines could charge more for colored versions as a profit center and can raise the price on movies as everyone will be watching with zero carry-ons.
Lucky passengers will find their clothing at their destination, but clothing stores near the changing rooms night be very profitable.
Of course the fuel cell battery for electronic devices is dead.

A serious item to ponder is the acceptable radius for ground transportation. In the NorthEast Corridor, many of us find Amtrak a viable alternative to the airlines. It wouldn't take much to create attractive bus service - examples exist. My guess is that ground alternatives to flying are viable for trips up to 300 miles.
