Last week we mentioned the Kavali-CERCA Conference on the Future of Cosmology held at CWRU in Cleveland. I've heard a few reports that it was an excellent event. A few of the talks are now archived. (bad choice in codecs, but the content is good). Steve Hawking still is great with puns.
The reports I've had are that topology, dark energy and anthropics (sigh) were hotly discussed. The idea of the anthropic reasoning deeply offends me - David Gross sums it up best (this is only a rough quote) Anthropic reasoning is a kind of virus. It infects people, and once infected they are lost forever...
I'll be savoring the talks over the next week or so. This will be a real treat.
