I will not think of my iPhone the same and you need to make that cake for me sometime:) Where do battery names come from? Are there A, B, C and D cells? Where do AA and AAA fit in?

Battery naming is strange and historical. A, B and C batteries were made for portable vacuum tube (or value as the English would say) devices. Wikipedia has an entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_(vacuum_tube) Wikipedia also has a listing of common battery types http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_battery_sizes
