I find the creativity that comes when you free yourself enough to make a few things amazing. Making should be part of everyone's education.

Plus you have me right on how boring clothing is in the US. There are flickers if creativity, but mostly people march to a drum and feel they are fashionable. They could be so much more interesting if they knew a bit more.

It is exciting to see this turn around in places like Brooklyn and the East Bay of SF. For this personalization to really work you must understand yourself and what you want! There is no better way to learn than to try yourself. Even if you aren't very good you will learn so much. I'm not very good at making things, but in trying I know how to talk with my seamstress and tailor.
