Something that just works - you can get a sheet at a local metal supply or through this project. Not particularly inexpensive - but nicely finished and perhaps worth it. But if you want really authentic Neopolitan pizza you need a much higher temperature than a conventional oven can supply... perhaps you can get close enough though.
We've been doing this for decades, using an iron pan that spans two burners and was originally meant for pancakes on the stove. We heat the plate in the oven, and then cook under the broiler as indicated in the article. Crispy, smoky and slightly charred. You can also use a large cast iron frying pan- hate to buy a special purpose widget.
