Of the early iPhone 5 reviews I've seen, Grubber's has the most depth and insight.
My AT&T contract had expired some time ago and I was waiting for one. Unfortunately I preordered an hour and twelve minutes after the AppleStore went online and I missed the initial batch - the claim is I'll see delivery around October 5th... I stayed with AT&T and that may be a mistake given the state of LTE penetration of Verizon and AT&T at this point. There is also the issue of FaceTime - AT&T is taking an anti-network neutrality position on it and is trying to conflate WiFi with cellular service in order to push subscribers into a more profitable (for AT&T) plan. On the other hand Verizon has its own tricks and evilness. Neither provider is very good at delighting their customers.
I still may cancel my order and go with Verizon, but I'm waiting for a bit more information. In the meantime people keep telling me that LTE on AT&T sucks... the maps are the represent current LTE coverage for the part of the country I'm in most often and there is the issue of how well the service works where it is available. The blue pin is my most frequently used location. The little burst of blue to the West of my location is AT&T's coverage around the Verizon headquarters building.
Comments on service are most welcome.
I live in Summit, NJ and commute to the City and have AT&T LTE on my Android. No coverage in Summit, the train ride in has nothing and the service isn't great in midtown, although it is much better than AT&T's 3G service. Verizon LTE on Android phones rocks in Summit and midtown. I have the wrong carrier and am stuck.
