and on tax dollars in Louisiana -- a waste of tax dollars and human potential.
Religion should only exist in schools as comparative religion and probably part of a history class. Although it would be great if there were critical thinking classes, but I have no hopes for that.
The general distrust of science seems to be more and more important to the right.
Problem with kids these days is they don't git enough exercise. Baptists should git right in them classrooms and teach em to juggle rattle snakes.

HOUSE DIVIDED, BRAINS RIPPED
"What this seeming conflict suggests is that the issue is getting more polarized, as people feel they either have to pick Team Evolution or Team Creationism."
By the front door of our neighbor's house stood a big rock with the words "HOUSE DIVIDED" written across the top of its vertical face. Centered below was a vertical line. And to its left "Iowa State University" and its right "The University of Iowa."
Inside our house stands a much bigger rock with "HOUSE DIVIDED." And to its left "NONBELIEVER" and its right "BELIEVER." So has that rock stood for forty years, my wife striving to save my soul and me striving to enlighten her. NEVER underestimate the POWER of brainwashing. When ANTI-TRUTH has been BURNED into ones neurons from day one, the chances of schools ripping and reshaping THE TRUTH are minimal. When, thousands of times, we have been taught that GOD made US and the UNIVERSE in SIX days and MIRACLES are what we must NOT question, then mortal teachers and scientists will go unheeded. Is it no wonder that some years ago a Gallop poll indicated that a quarter of students believed they were created and evolved?
Today Gallop has redesigned their questionnaire so the respondent can give only one answer. Maybe respondents still FEEL the need to pick Team Evolution AND Team Creationism, but Gallop now forces them to pick Team Evolution OR Team Creationism.
