If someone gave me a pile of money for a bike, I'd put some of the beauties from Budnitz on my short list. For someone looking for a potentially amazing city bike this may be the ticket that lasts a few decades may even be cost effective - although cost probably isn't the point with handcrafted titanium frames.
There is an unwritten rule in airplanes and bikes that if they look incredible, they probably are incredible.
An interesting point about the scale of exotic bikes is that many people can afford them - whereas exotic cars, boats, watches, and so on are out of the question.
