A real theater quality movie -- inexpensive 4k video
An "economy" model from Red - the body is about $10k and you can put together a workable camera for about $13k. The image quality would be better than any digital movie camera only a few years ago. This class of camera should make higher quality low budget movies possible for those who have the talent. Amazing progress and Red has been making inroads in the film industry.
You can also shoot fairly high quality stills at video rate - some fashion magazines are doing this.
Canon announced a similar class camera for about $20k (differences in options can bring the prices together). Somewhat different specs, but folks who are interested will probably be looking carefully at finished video quality, ease of use and the whole system. An intertesting competition.
