It is remarkable how so many leaders in the Republican Party has come to deny science. It is rare in other first world governments to have a major party, conservative or otherwise, embrace illiteracy - although there is probably a purpose to their denial. It is also remarkable that the press treats this denial as skepticism.
They have become the modern incarnation of the Catholic Church of Galileo's period. Self blinding and wrong.
