An effort in the UK to reduce residential speed limits to 20mph across the board. A really good idea that is probably impossible here. I like the point that higher speed limits are taking away the right kids and others have to safe cycling and other activities...

As an iPhone user I don't buy the argument that the phone is fatally flawed because you can't swap batteries. Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are nothing new - people have always been upset with others and their leaders have been able to whip up fear and hate.
The Know-Nothing Movement in the mid 1800s is a good case in point. The name was great and perhaps the tea baggers should be known as the Know-Nothings 2.0 (actually 11.0 might be a bit more accurate)
Beck's version of tea bagging involves guns, gold and god. The gold piece has added to his wealth at the cost of his followers as the type of investment is naive. The god piece is interesting a Beck is a Mormon and their beliefs are different, very different, from the core evangelical piece that has become part of tea bagging. But this is conveniently swept under the rug.
