Climate change is a politically divisive issue these days and some groups are beginning to target Chamber of Commerce as it has taken an extreme position that climate change is poppycock and dealing with it is a disaster for business.
Some organization are beginning to target CoC members as a few prominent companies (several energy companies, Nike and Apple to name a few) have left the organization in protest. FedEx seems to be the first major target.
People on the right will support the CoC, so it will be interesting to see if a little war develops for the hearts and minds of customers. What is needed is a list of of members organized by business. If I support climate change efforts maybe I can shift my business from FedEx. Of course someone on the far right may favor them.
Increasingly corporate position on this issue will be become part of their brand as they have to change (or not change) their business practices.
Anyone up for a well-organized online list so people can make their choices.
So far we know that Apple has left the Chamber? Is Microsoft a member? Dell, HP, ...? What about communications providers? Auto companies ... the list goes on and on...
