Hmmm . The New York Times ran a science article on the notion of Boltzmann's Brains.
One has to worry about context. The article does state Nobody in the field believes that this is the way things really work, however., but I'm worried that people read these things and wonder how flakey physicists are.
The concept is not to suggest a cool new prediction, but rather show that a theory of a certain type of universe can be falsified.
The idea is cute and useful for something else, but I don't think the article states that clearly enough.
