In the past week there has been a great deal of attention given to a paper on "framing" and science. I'll stay away from those arguments (at least for the time being), but want to give a link to a paper by McCright and Dunlap a few years ago = Defeating Kyoto: The Conservative Movement’s Impact on U.S. Climate Change Policy (pdf and hosted by Stephen Schneider) -- an excellent introduction to framing as well as recent history of public policy and climate change.
