ferret wheelchairs
We had a ferret who lost the use of the rear legs. Ferrets still like cruising around and we had a custom wheelchair fashioned. It was expensive and didn't work well.
Sukie commissioned a new ferret wheelchair. This one is beautifully build and should work very well - it even works on a carpeted floor. Hopefully we'll never use it, but it is there in case.
drop a note if you need the builder's contact information

Robert Morgavan builds these pretty much at cost. They run $50.

Another trick for handicapped ferrets is to make pantyhose slings. Choose the length of pantyhose according to the person's height (and use different colors for different people. We sew the feet into a belly hammock and roll the tops into handles, but have heard from people who cut leg holes into the top portion of the panty hose and used the feet for the handle.

Wow I've never seen a ferret wheelchair before. It's amazing!

My husband retreived a young ferret from a dumpster yesterday. We know who did it, and plan on contacting the authorities. It's a male, and we've discovered that it has no use of it's hind legs. He seems happy, now! Drinks and eats just fine, and we might keep him. I would like then to look into a wheelchair for him, without having to spend and arm and leg for it. Can you please advise.
Thank you,
Cheryl Beauvic

hey i have a ferret who i absolutely adore! i have had him for 7 years and he has been my best friend since.. 2 days ago he somehow managed to get out of the house and my mom was on her way to work when somehow he got hit while she was backing out but managed to escape death. He is in the vet right now and the doctors say that he is fine but with a fractured hip and pelvis... he is not paralyzed.. he can still walk and everything but it is so painful for him and i would love to relieve him from that and purchase a wheelchair for him. i have no clue how to find a decent priced and well working wheelchair for a ferret. i would very much love to contact the person who builds the one yall have if u dont mind? i love him to death and i hate seeing him struggle just to move an inch. please help me and email me back as soon as possible..
