Pi Day

For additional fun, search Pi for a string of numbers - your birthday for example.

Also Einstein's birthday. Einstein loved Apfelstrudel and was known to eat more than his share of blueberries. My guess is you could probably eat any pie and honor his memory.

my favorite Einstein quote:

(when asked by a young person how a radio works)

You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat.

___

but back to Pi and the thought for the day ... It is interesting to consider that we went to the moon before we could calculate Pi to a million digits (1973 on a CDC 7600).

(Andrew puts things in perspective by asking how many people saw the moon landing vs how many people saw the result from the computer)
