The last few times I've been to an Apple Store I have noticed people in their twenties starting up conversations with the opposite sex. It almost appears that they are using the place to meet each other. In a way it makes sense. The stores don't have pushy sales people, have lots of mixing space, good lighting and are filled with props to start conversations.
very curious ...
I brought this up with some friends who happen to be in their mid twenties. One of them (Heather - I worked with her at Oberlin a few years ago) says this is real ...
I go to the Apple Store in SoHo to be seen and to look. The guy you meet there is much better than what turns up at a bar and you can see him. It works because the average Mac user probably has twenty IQ points on the general public and talking about music or amateur video is a great line.It isn't much different from hunting dates the classical and jazz sections of a record store or the literature section of a book store and it works well. Try a weekday night at 7 to 8 PM and you'll see some hot young people. I'm amazed someone hasn't used this for a device in a movie.
The Apple Store is the only store where I worry about how I look before I go.
